Matt Littler is an artist specialising in handmade collage, working out of his studio in North London, ably assisted by his Boston terrier sidekick, Marlon.

Born in Birmingham and raised in the Victorian seaside town of Weston-Super-Mare, Matt’s early years were spent collecting Muppet Show annuals, and watching Ray Harryhausen films.

Matt’s lo-fi style is a chaotic combination of nostalgia, comedy and horror, mixing up the mundane with the fantastical. His practice bears comparison with the musical process of sampling searching out old, printed materials to re-contextualise within the images that form his surreal symbolism.

Rooted within the D.I.Y punk and hip-hop culture that informs his practice, much of his work is made up of collaborations with underground artists and labels with 12” record sleeves becoming a perfect canvas.

Matt is also an established commercial illustrator and a regular contributor to the UK’s leading football magazine, When Saturday Comes.

Recent exhibitions have showcased his more intricate, freestyle, personal creations and he is currently working on a series of prints based on these works.
